Walkers Chocolates Switched to 100% Recyclable Packaging

UK-based Walkers Chocolates announced a new packaging update for several of the brand's products to help elevate their sustainability and keep them relevant for today's consumer. The brand has adopted the 100% recyclable EvoPak RCM paper wrapper for its Turkish Delight and Mint Cream chocolate bars, which will give them a more eco-friendly profile for shoppers to appreciate. The packaging can be recycled curbside along with other paper products and is proudly communicated to costumers with messaging right on the pack to ensure proper disposal.

Commercial Director Tom Murtagh spoke on the Walkers Chocolates packaging update saying, "At Walkers Chocolates, we have a strong focus on sustainability and are committed to reducing our impact on the environment. As part of this, we will move away from plastic to paper-based materials completely over the next three to five years where possible. Today’s announcement is an exciting step for the Walkers team with two of our key customers, and I hope this is the start of a much bigger revolution in the chocolate category, and one which will be welcomed by consumers who can recycle the wrappers and know that no harmful microplastics are being produced at end of life."
