American cinema chain Alamo Drafthouse announced that it will be introducing Video Vortex as "a reimagining of the classic video rental store located in the lobby of the acclaimed cinema eatery’s upcoming 11-screen Raleigh location."
Video Vortex is set to offer one of the most comprehensive rental collections ever, serving as "Raleigh's newest (and only) video rental store." For the convenience of consumers, visitors will be able to give back their rentals in-person, as well as DVDs and Blu-ray discs in the mail via a return envelope. Movie buffs in particular will enjoy Video Vortex's selection of rare VHS tapes and titles that have never been released in digital formats.
Knowing that many consumers no longer have the means to play VHS tapes, Video Vortex will also offer VCRs and HDMI to RCA adapters at no cost to renters.
