The Vertical Theater Was Designed to Allow for Social Distancing
Riley von Niessen — January 28, 2021 — Art & Design
The Vertical Theater has been introduced by The Vertical Theater Group as a large-scale live performance venue that's able to adhere to social distancing protocols.
The free-standing theater is meant to function as a pop-up space, which would allow viewers in different cities to enjoy live entertainment while limiting the risk of catching or passing on the virus. Within the venue, a large stage sits at the center, which is surrounded by different levels that seat groups of people. The seating that surrounds the stage is spaced apart, with each section able to seat between four and 12 people. All of the viewing boxes would also include transparent barriers to help prevent contact between attendees, and large walkways in between each would allow for safer movement.
The Vertical Theater group plans to construct the first of The Vertical Theaters in 2021.
