HKS Designs a YouTube Theatre Venue inside the SoFi Stadium
Amy Duong — January 13, 2023 — Art & Design
International architecture studio HKS opens up an entertainment studio dubbed the YouTube Theater that is within the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. The venue seats 6,000 people and is found on the south side of the stadium canopy simultaneously built along with the stadium itself. It is a three-story theater completes with an overhead roof and white concrete paneling details framed by large convex glass.
Michelle Stevenson, the HKS project architect notes that "As the stadium rose, we had to figure out how to create a fully enclosed theater underneath the shared massive roof canopy. We were catching up to the much larger stadium project's construction throughout the process and essentially, building a ship in a bottle."
