In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, Verizon Wireless has announced that it will be providing its customers with additional data to support them in this time of need to alleviate the potential occurrence of overages. The new telecom initiative will see both wireless and business customers receiving 15GB of free data in order to keep them connected, even if they reach the end of their package allotment. The brand will also be waiving charges for Internet and voice services for Lifeline customers to help households who might be experiencing more hardship during this time.
CEO of Verizon Consumer Group Ronan Dunne spoke on the new initiative saying, "We understand the hardships that many of our customers are facing, and we’re doing our part to ensure they have broadband internet connectivity during this unprecedented time. With so many Americans working and learning remotely from home, having access to reliable and affordable internet is more important than ever before.”
