Uber’s 1-800 number will now also take Uber Eats orders for delivery. Initially, the company launched the 1-800 number to offer a way for people to use the transportation service without needing the app, in order to cater to people who may not have a smartphone. The 1-800 number was first used in Arizona, and then it was expanded to New York City and Miami. However the company is using the number to complete Uber Eats orders, with older people in mind who may not use the Uber Eats app.
Those who call the number will be able to place an order with a live person who can confirm the request and inform the caller of the order price. The company also indicated that it will look to expand this service in the near future.
