Atelier L'Abri Takes on the Triplex Fabre Renovation Project
Amy Duong — September 8, 2024 — Art & Design
Montreal-based design studio Atelier L'Abri has worked on the Triplex Fabre project -- which was created to accommodate two generations of the same family. It is a part of the Canadian city's Petit Laurier neighborhood with a centric white palette that adds a tonal contrast to the building's burgundy exterior. It is made up of three connected units that are stacked on top of one another.
The team shares the process, stating "The restoration of the original architectural components of the front facade preserves the project's integration into the surrounding built environment. The simplicity of the reconstructed front balconies and staircase highlights the artisanal red clay brick and the new cornice." Additionally, openings were expanded and the balconies were added for more outdoor spaces.
