Duminda Perera is a creative director based in Milan, Italy, who employed inspirational quotes from late celebrities for a series of tribute posters. The beautiful pieces make use of splatters of color that make up the portraits of some of the most well-loved stars.
Portraits are superimposed by translucent rectangles that artfully feature quotes from the artists. Included in the series of tribute posters is Muhammad Ali, Prince, Michael Jackson, David Bowie, Amy Winehouse and Steve Jobs. Duminda Perera was inspired to do the project because of the impact the celebrities made on him, with their words offering motivation and encouraging a freedom of individuality and expression. Duminda Perera plans to offer the gradient tribute posters as canvas print versions as well, allowing consumers to implement the colorful pieces into their space however they like.
