The 'Tree of Lights' app from AKQA uses augmented reality to help users instantly place an interactive 360-degree tree before their eyes.
Through the screen of a mobile device, one is able to create "infinite variations" on the classic Christmas tree with the app, using different lights, shapes and sounds. Once the design has been customized to one's liking, a picture of the augmented reality holiday tree can be captured, saved and shared with friends and family.
As well as helping individuals brighten their homes with a festive AR tree this year, especially for those who cannot access a real or fake tree for the season, AKQA plants one real tree through World Land Trust for every virtual tree app that is installed.
