In Spartanburg, South Carolina, 100 homeless people are being given disposable cameras to document their daily lives for the 'Through Our Eyes' project. The social experiment is aimed to expose the issue of homelessness in the city. The cameras will be used by the homeless to share their stories.
Those who participate will have five days to take photos before returning the cameras. The community will vote on their favorite images as the top 20 photos will be displayed at the Chapman Cultural Center. The top three entries will win prizes specific to the needs of the recipient. All 20 photos will be available for auction.
