The Community First! Village Will Have 100 Homes

The Community First! Village is a new initiative that has its sights set on supporting those experiencing homelessness to help them get back on their feet by offering them a place to live as a start. The community is being created by Icon in collaboration with the Lennar Foundation and is located at the Christian social outreach ministry in Austin, Texas. The community will feature 100 3D-printed homes alongside more than 1,000 standard dwellings and will help to offer much more housing opportunities for those who need it most.
Icon spoke on the Community First! Village in a press release saying, "The only neighborhood of its kind in the nation, Community First! Village provides affordable, permanent housing and a supportive community for men and women who are coming out of chronic homelessness. A development of Mobile Loaves & Fishes, this transformative residential program exists to love and serve Austin's neighbors who have been living on the streets, while also empowering the surrounding community into a lifestyle of service with the homeless."
