It is easy to get caught up writing Christmas lists to Santa rather than thinking about people who can't do the same because they don't even have a pen and paper to their name, but The Pie Drive cleverly encourages people to help others while also helping themselves. One man has undertaken the admirable endeavor of baking 80 pies in one week to raise money for the Covenant House, a shelter for homeless youth in Toronto, Canada.
This man is Zachary Ginies.
Although pre-orders for The Pie Drive have already been taken, the official baking will commence on December 2, 2012. At $20 a pop, Ginies will donating three quarters to charity while using the rest for supplies.
In addition to giving back to the community, The Pie Drive celebrates the great recipes of Kay Andrews, recently passed grandmother of the founder.
