TARIS is Affiliated with ClearlySo Canada
Tiana Reid — February 7, 2013 — Social Good
TARIS was founded by Julie McDowell in 2009 and it was in 2010 where she teamed up with ClearlySo, which is based in the United Kingdom, in order to create ClearlySo Canada, which operated much like its European partner. The ClearlySo Canada directory now has over 300 companies in its listings. McDowell got a Master of Science at Cornell University where she studied the apparel industry, and more specifically, how the international trade policy influences the work of small and medium-sized businesses.
The main avenues through which the organization supports its mission include advising and referring social entrepreneurs and those in any phase of the business, investing in social businesses and community building through the ClearlySo Canada directory. The network that TARIS has also allows it to connect its customers up with others who have expertise and resources.
