Architect Tsuyoshi Tane designs the new Tane Garden House as an honoring memory of his time spent on a guided tour around the Vitra campus in Rhein, Germany. He follows the footsteps of where a young Fehlbaum spent his time in the field.
The Tane Garden House is a small structure that has the shape of an octagon for a unique look and it made its appearance for the first time to the public during the week of Art Basel. It follows Tane's design concept of “Archaeology of the Future,” which essentially asserts the idea that architecture itself is born from the memory of where it is resting. The home has yurt themes and Japanese themes in the form of a thatched roof minka.
