Jicama-based food and beverage line Xicama collaborated with Miami's Bar Lab to create "the world's first jicama-based cocktail," resulting in the creation of three superfood cocktail mixes. Each of the Cucumber/Ginger, Spicy Watermelon and Coconut/Pineapple drinks prominently features jicama as an ingredient, which is known for its anti-inflammatory, immune-boosting and gut-bolstering benefits.
The innovative jicama-based cocktail mixes, which are touted as better-for-you options, first made their debut at Coachella's Broken Shaker pop-up. More than 2,000 of the Xicamix, jicama, cucumber and ginger cocktails were served at the event and quickly sold out. According to Xicama CEO and founder Mona Sharma, "Modern drinkers are considering their relationship with wellness and alcohol, and cocktails with health-boosting benefits—and without booze at all—are gaining popularity."
