The Studios at Monterrey Institute of Technology are Highly Modern
Alexandra Serrano — November 30, 2012 — Art & Design
Created by Shine Architecture and TA Arquitectura, the studios at Monterrey Institute of Technology make for a student mecca of creativity.
Located in the León campus of the institution, the space houses a 24-hour "creative laboratory." Art and design pupils have a space to experiment with projects in their respective creative fields of expertise. The building features study spaces, photography rooms, studios as well as exhibition and study areas. Black, white and steel color motifs dominate the interior to give the space a modernistic feel.
The main facades are made up of "glass flakes" that serve the dual purpose of welcoming light and fresh air to ventilate and prevent over-heating. Perhaps the most interesting facet is the avant-garde atrium that gives the campus its striking aesthetic allure.
