A6A Designs the L'Atelier Studio from a Former Workshop
Amy Duong — May 3, 2024 — Art & Design
Architecture Studio A6A presents a look at its latest design project in the form of the L'Atelier studio. The space was once a workshop and it underwent a conversion by the studio defined by its pared-back space and materials. It is located in Bordeaux and what was once a garage with a central garden and shed at the back is now an L-shaped block. The team made small alterations but the series of workspaces were entirely transformed to truly reflect the values of the studio.
The team at A6A speaks to Dezeen about the design notion behind the space, it states "We found many resonances with our approach to the profession in this space, an ideal place to realise our vision of architecture. We wanted to design a place for experimentation and meeting, which leaves room for manual work and research. [It's] a timeless intervention in an existing building that we will never tire of over time."
