Heatherwick Studio has introduced a look at captivating visuals for a new school in Bogota, Colombia, Universidad Ean. It is opening the School of Sustainable Design and the design team captures the essence with a seven-floor vibrant visual plan. This will be a dynamic space for creativity and learning with colorful terraces that are inspired by basketry, nodding to the country's rich craft traditions.
It is specifically inspired by Werregue basketry, which is a unique weaving technique of the Wounaan indigenous community. The front of the building has a mosaic of columns and open terraces. This is done to honor the local heritage whilst infusing a mindfully modern architectural flare to be a great addition to the city's skyline.
