Medium's 'Studio Share' Lets Artists Sculpt Together in Virtual Reality
Laura McQuarrie — July 19, 2017 — Art & Design
The Version 1.2 update to Medium introduced a range of new features, including one called Studio Share, which lets friends work together on the creation of artwork in a shared virtual space.
The multiplayer feature allows friends to connect, talk and even view one another's sculptures coming to life in real-time. While it is not possible for two individuals to work on the same model at the same time together, the new feature does allow users to work alongside one another while creating their own works of art.
While there are plenty of VR art creation tools on the market such as Quill, Tilt Brush and Blocks, this update makes Medium the first of its kind to offer a multiplayer option. Some of the other new tools to be launched in Version 1.2 include a Move Tool, Reference Meshes and Manipulators to precisely rotate and scale objects.
