ETH Zurich, SAC, Lucerne University and EMPA joined forces to create the new Studio Monte Rosa. The building is a self-sufficient, self-sustaining, modern day lodge surrounded by breath-taking alpine views.
Built in extreme mountain conditions and in the middle of a natural reserve, the new Studio Monte Rosa will function as an alpine hut complete with restaurant and hotel (for 125 guests) for the Swiss Alpine Club (SAC).
Implications - Businesses that are capable of offering consumers an exclusive and one-of-a-kind product or service will appeal to a wide range of customers. While not all individuals have the economic means to indulge in such experiences, wealthy consumers will certainly be keen to invest their time and money in these companies.
