British design studio Hugh Broughton Architects works in collaboration with Rick Owns to create a prototype off-grid mountain refuge for the new Moncler Genius show. This took place in Shanghai and it was designed to create a warm space for harsh environments as a shelter with a unique shape. The shelter comprises a mezzanine bedroom, bathroom, and small combined space for the kitchen and living room.
The founder of the studio, High Broughton shares the design process with Dezeen, noting "Charlotte Perriand's project is a masterclass in thoughtful and aspirational design in a mountainous setting. The cleverly designed micro interior is both practical and elegant, whilst its exterior is clad with highly insulated shiny aluminium panels to respond to and minimise the impact on its snowy context."
