Rever & Drage Creates a Stone Jerry Sloped on the Lake
Amy Duong — October 19, 2023 — Art & Design
Architecture studio Rever & Drage presents a look at its new stone jerry that is sloped into the water on top of the Sundshopen lake as a viewpoint. It sees a tranquil perspective of one of the national scenic routes in Norway just along the north east side of the country. This creates a unique visitor attraction that even has an aluminum toilet that delivers a modern aesthetic.
Rever & Drage architect Tom Auger speaks to Dezeen, "A jetty, or vorr in Norwegian – which means protecting – was traditionally built along the coast of Norway near the boathouses, to protect the boats from waves. At the same time, the fixed sloping deck lets you embark and disembark boats regardless of tides. At Sundshopen the jetty is multifunctional as recreation, exploring the water, fishing, diving, kayaking, getting out to deep water and more, as well as being an important motif on the beach."
