Architecture studio Estudio Herreros completes the Trosten floating sauna which is located along the Munch museum right in Oslo. It is along the fjord by the museum, which coincidentally was also designed by the same studio. It is the latest to join the range of floating saunas that have been commissioned by the Oslo SAuna Association with the goal of bringing "sauna to the people."
The studio explains the building process, stating "The construction combines sustainable design through an ambitious energy system that ensures consistent heat at all levels; conscious use of natural and recycled materials; and social inclusion, being the first universally accessible sauna with a steam recirculation system that facilitates heat for convenient use, also when seated in a wheelchair."
