The Sretenka Sculptures could be used to brighten up any street in the world, but it was installed In downtown Moscow, Russia, for Sretenka Design Week. Perhaps people should sign a petition encouraging artist Matt W Moore to create more for other cities. The abstract blocks with their multi-colored sides would be a treat for pedestrians everywhere.
Similar to his Crystals and Lasers art piece, the Sretenka Sculptures take on geometry in a playful and vibrant way. The prismatic patterns have been applied to smaller three dimensional objects rather than a big wall and other flat canvasses.
Although the Sretenka Sculptures are meant to be looked at, their shapes can easily be regarded as artistic stools and benches. Perhaps that will be Moore's next project.
