London firm Peter Barber Architects has built this impressive building that is actually a state of the art homeless shelter called the Spring Gardens.
There are two parts to the Spring Gardens facility. The first part is shelter for the homeless in the form of two buildings that have 40 beds in each (with bathroom and private garden). The second part is a program for clients preparing to rejoin the community.
Spring Gardens will be completed in 2010. It’s nice to see over-the-top help for those who can’t help themselves.
