Anyone that enjoys smashing candy-filled papier-mâché creatures, or laughing at a friend while they try desperately to do so while blind-folded, will get a kick out of the Space Dog Piñata.
The toy was designed by Matt Singer and features a dog with a miniature Saturn and Sputnik space capsule orbiting around its head that disperses candy and a small dog toy when cracked open.
Inspired by the mutts that were sent up in Sputnik by the Soviet Union in the 1950s and 1960s, the adaptation to the traditional game is a pricey way to spice up a kids birthday party. The $75 party favor comes in blue, red and green and features Russian names such as Laika, Belka or Strelka -- which were the names of the first three dogs to go into space.
