From Pastel Egg Dishes to Multi-Colored Linguine
Laura McQuarrie — June 5, 2014 — Lifestyle
Food coloring is one of the easiest ways to make something like Easter eggs and baked goods more festive, but these examples feature more ambitious multi-colored creations, as well as some unusually colored foods like pasta, burger buns and beer.
Color is a powerful tool and using it is a great way to transform ordinary edibles into special event-worthy treats. Something like green beer has become fairly conventional for holiday celebrations like St. Paddy's Day and this year, the Kirin beer garden in Tokyo created their own blue beer for the World Cup in honor of the blue color worn by the Japanese team. Something as simple as adding a bit of color to an ordinary food or drink suddenly turns it into something that's a whole lot more novel.
