Sony and Olivia Rodrigo Take Over the New York City Transit
Amy Duong — December 21, 2024 — Pop Culture
Sony and Olivia Rodrigo work in collaboration to take over the public transit system in New York City. This month, the Bowery subway station and the subway cars are transformed into the signature purple theme as a nod to the young singer with approval by the MTA.
The station has been entirely changed with shades of purple and co-branded visuals down to the transit maps which are named after her lyrics. Now dubbed the 'O Line,' the subway car is designed with a playful aesthetic finished with props and other ads. Commuters are also able to sample the LinkBuds wireless headphones by Sony -- it is tuned in to SOUR and GUTS. The station is complete with tarot card readers along with live sketch artists.
