Restauranteur François O'Neill and his team have worked to design the Cafe François eatery in London. The space is defined by wooden banquettes inspired by New York City subway benches which can be seen with classic bentwood brasserie chairs. The menu is comprised of French staples which are reimagined with global influences -- this is reflected in the design as well.
O'Neill speaks on the design influence, sharing "Our banquette design was developed using inspiration from the public transport benches found in New York and Moscow's underground systems and the tables were inspired by the restaurant Terminus Nord, a great institution in Paris. All these elements keep cafe culture and ethos in mind – transient business with quick turnover and laid-back style with a foundation of sophistication running throughout."
