The definition of a small space apartment varies from person to person, but most people probably won't even consider a living space that's only about 7' wide. However, a team of students from Yangzhou University set out to make a space as small as this functional as well a totally livable.
The foam prototype took the students almost a year and a half to develop and construct, but the built space measures about 43 square feet and has room enough for a super small kitchen, bathroom (complete with both a shower and a toilet), bedroom, plus some additional storage space. The space might be a little cozy for two people to be in at once, but for one person, there's enough room to get around and fulfill all of your living needs, provided that you don't clutter the space with a lot of additional stuff.
