British artist Stuart Semple is on a mission to “liberate colors” from trademarks and exclusive rights, including Vantablack, the blackest black in the world—and now, the artist is releasing an NFT called SIX ZEROES that references the hex code for the color black. With the release of this digital asset, people are given the chance to own the "digital equivalent of ‘the Blackest Black.'"
One million SIX ZEROS will be made available in March 2022 for 0.05 ETH each. There are a few parameters in place when it comes to purchasing a pixel, and Ethereum holders will need to confirm that they do not hold any controversial Color Museum NFTs and that they are not Anish Kapoor or associated with the man who secured exclusive access to the blackest black pigment.
