eBay will become the first company to sponsor shoppable video ads for Verizon. Verizon's shoppable video ads are part of its holiday campaign titled, 'The Guy's Guide to Nailing the Holidays,' which focuses on gift ideas that can be purchased for others. The videos in the campaign will now feature items from the eBay marketplace and will consist of tech, sporting items, and clothing.
Verizon has also hired a number of influencers to take part in the campaign, including the gaming expert Brian Tong, as well as the reality TV star Tanner Tolbert. The influencers will focus on technology and sports products, which will have eBay links attached.
Video content is emerging as an important avenue for companies to market products. Previously this year YouTube added shoppable ads into the videos on its site.
