These Concept Plans by SHoP Architects Call for Hollow Buildings
Kyle Towers — March 8, 2013 — Art & Design
The new building concepts by SHoP Architects in association with James Corner Field Operations are stunning. Among others, the plans call for hallowed out skyscrapers, extensive lush gardens and parks. The centerpiece of the design is certainly the hallowed buildings that will surely add a creative and interesting look for the Brooklyn skyline.
Besides being aesthetically pleasing, this unique form of building shaping will effectively let sunlight in. It will also allow the neighborhoods and smaller buildings in the area to continue enjoying their view of water. I really enjoy this design concept and it would definitely be a positive addition to Brooklyn. It's nice to see that SHoP Architects are being considerate of other people who live in the area.
