Seeds of Truth Coffee Cups Create Herb Gardens Instead of Waste
Laura McQuarrie — June 13, 2014 — Eco
The Seeds of Truth is a project for Truth Coffee that aims to turn around the harm disposable coffee cups do to the environment. Efforts have been made in the past to encourage people to bring their own mugs to coffee shops, but the majority of the time, heaps of used disposable cups end up in the trash.
The Truth Coffee cups have sleeves implanted with seeds, so that after you're finished your morning coffee, you can get a garden underway. After adding some soil, the sleeve can be planted right into the coffee cup and a labeled stir stick can even help to indicate the growth of basil, rocket or thyme. To make the project even greener, the entire coffee cup can be planted into the earth, since it is completely biodegradable. Instead of creating waste, brilliant project by South Africa's Native VML leaves behind something far more useful for you and better for the environment.
