The Samsung Pay Launch in Mexico Marks Its 20th Market

The Samsung Pay launch was announced in Mexico at the end of January. The company partnered with financial leaders like American Express, VISA, MasterCard, as well as banks like Banorte, Citibanamex, HSBC and more, to make the transition of the mobile payment seamless.

The Samsung Pay service is made possible through a compatible Galaxy device. It combines Near Field Communication (NFC) technology with a proprietary Magnetic Secure Transmission (MST) technology. It is the latter component that elevates Samsung Pay above that of its competitors, making it "the most widely accepted mobile payment solution on the market."

The use of the service is simple. One must connect a debit or credit card to their account. Each payment has to be authorized via a PIN or a fingerprint/iris recognition. Finally, one needs to simply tap the mobile device at a POS terminal.
