Visa's Tap to Phone App Comes Pre-Installed on Some Devices

Visa is expanding the number of people that can use contactless payment systems through its Tap to the Phone app. The expansion was accomplished through a collaboration with Samsung, as the Tap to Phone app will come pre-installed on Samsung's 'Galaxy XCover Pro.' Visa's partnership with Samsung marks the first time the app has been natively integrated into a device.
The app can offer a more streamlined POS experience than traditional payment methods, and it can eliminate the need for customers to wait in lines. Currently, the Tap to Phone app is being tested in 16 different locations across nine countries.
Mary Kay Bowman, the Head of Global Seller Products and Solutions for Visa, spoke about the potential of the Tap to Phone app, “For Visa, the goal is to use our technology to open the door to different commerce experiences across all kinds of sectors with a simple, efficient and secure solution.”
