Russ & Daughters, the famous Jewish diner that has been in New York City since 1914, is the predecessor to Russ & Daughters Cafe. While the original establishment serves traditional Jewish and Yiddish fare, Russ & Daughters Cafe puts a twist on some of these traditional favorites and its babka ice cream sandwich is one example.

Babka is a traditional Jewish dessert made with flaky dough and usually sweetened with chocolate. Russ & Daughters Cafe has offered its homemade babka ice cream flavor for about a year now, and the restaurant has upped the ante by putting that already decadent ice cream between two slices of chocolate babka. The result is a ridiculously decadent dessert that will leave diners without any room for a bagel and lox schmear.
