Twitter is Flagging Retweets with False Information

Ahead of the 2020 US Election on November 3rd, Twitter announced a series of updates that it hopes will help prevent the spread of misinformation—including a new feature that will let users know if the content they're about to Retweet contains false information.
In order to ensure that these messages are applied to Tweets that contain manipulated media or otherwise misleading information, Twitter will flag them with labels that state that the claim being shared is incorrect, and will point users to more credible sources so that can expand their own research. Ultimately, users will be able to decide whether or not they wish to Retweet the post after seeing the flag, however Twitter hopes that the additional measure will help users make more informed decisions before they choose to spread fake news.
