With the election season upon us, Twitter is following the lead of other social media platforms like TikTok and Reddit with the launch of its new Election Hub section. The hub will be available in both English and Spanish and contains relevant information including live streams of the debate and other major events. In addition, the social media platform will stream its own series of public service announcements that serve to educate users on issues like voting safely amid the pandemic, mail-in ballot requirements, and voter registration.
“Twitter wants to empower every eligible person to vote in the 2020 US election, and we’re focused on helping people register, better understand the voting process during COVID-19 including early voting options, and feel informed about the choices on their ballot,” the company said in a statement.
