Atelier Vens Vanbelle recently designed a unique home with an interior that resembles tree trunks and branches. For some people, having a beautiful garden view is simply not enough. This residence seamlessly blends the indoor and outdoor areas to create a holistic home environment.
The quirky garden home is located in Ghent, Belgium, in a packed residential neighborhood. In order to bring a touch of nature into the home, the architects designed an extension that links the small back garden to the rest of the house. To create harmony between the indoor and outdoor spaces, the architects installed a series of timber columns that resemble tree trunks and branches. These columns extend upwards and create a geometric pattern on the ceiling. Glass inserts were then added in various places to let direct sunlight into the room.
