If you were a child in the early 2000s, Pokemon was a large part of your existence and most days you hoped that real Pokemon creatures would sprout out from your backyard. These realistic Pokemon designs by artist RJ Palmer showcase what Pokemons would’ve looked like, if they were real.
The Pokemon illustration showcases an array of Pokemons from different generations of the series. Blastoise, Dragonite, Gastly and several other Pokemons are detailed with great intricacy. The drawing also features a human silhouette to provide context on the size scale of the Pokemons, similar to how the in-game Pokedex showcased the size of a Pokemon. The designs also feature several small Pokemons, which are particularly hard to find, but make all the more gratifying when you see them.
Palmer’s real Pokemon illustrations are the closest thing people will probably have when it comes seeing a real-life Pokemons, but hopefully that’ll change.
