RAW Design's 'RAW Canvas' Party Turns Attendees into Artists
Laura McQuarrie — June 30, 2015 — Art & Design
Celebrations of raw materials and sheer human power have been some of the themes of RAW Design events of the past. Proving the creativity and ingenuity of Toronto's design community knows no bounds, RAW Design recently hosted its 8th annual event in a waterfront warehouse.
The RAW Canvas event was styled as an "interactive pop-up gallery," where the walls, floor and ceiling of the warehouse were set up as a giant canvas to bring out inner artist in everyone.
Rather than having the event space styled as an all-white blank canvas to begin with, guests arrived to a space lined with paintings and installations by various artists. Other stations to induce creativity included walls with paint-by-number templates, paint guns and puzzles to turn every guest into an artful contributor.
