Raw material objects are at a focal point for artist Marusela Granell and industrial designer Manu Bañó. The two creatives explore the capabilities and the capacity for beauty of such materials in an exhibition, presented in Mexico City. Called 'La verdad de la material,' and launched in parallel with this year's ZONA MACO, the event will be open to the public until March 15th.
Marusela Granell and Manu Bañó worked intensively on their raw material object exploration, "cutting, folding, gluing, and ripping." La verdad de la material spotlights "three distinct pieces," including a chair, a coffee table, and a wall lamp made out of a thin copper sheet that has been hammered to take its form. A certain elegance captures the attention at the viewer as they marvel at the interplay between materials, form, and process.
