Raaka is a social business and chocolate company that offers bars made using unroasted beans. The flavors, all of which are nut-free, organic, gluten-free and vegan, aren't like your typical Hershey bar. They've got vanilla rooibos, blueberry lavender, bourbon cask aged, black coffee and chocolate with sea salt among others.
The social component for Raaka stems from fair trade working conditions. Currently, they're attempting to make official their fair trade agreement with farmers based in Cap Haitien, Haiti. Now, they work with cocoa farmers in the Dominican Republic and Bolivia through organizational and cooperative partnerships where they pay $500 above the typical market price.
