While many consumers have come to accept the cumbersome composition of typical bags of dog food, the designers of Purina ONE SmartBlend packaging have stepped up to suggest a different approach that's significantly more user- and eco-friendly.
The most notable feature that Eliana Feigelstock, John Kim and Geoff Ledford came up with is the molded paper pulp frame that holds the thick plastic bags of kibble. The pouches are sealed tight on all sides but they open up to a sort of tap towards the bottom of the stiff card structure. This low valve facilitates the easy pouring of pet food without requiring one to pick up a full bag and tip it over. Fully recyclable Purina ONE SmartBlend packaging also integrates a handle for convenient carrying.
