With Project Courage, Honda is bringing smiles and hope to young patients who are hospitalized by introducing “Shogo," an electric ride-on vehicle for kids that Honda engineers created to help children and their families cope with the stress and anxiety of hospitalization by allowing young patients to drive themselves around the hospital. Shogo, which means “soaring into the future” in Japanese, is designed for children aged 4 to 9, who can easily operate it with power controls and a go/stop mechanism on the steering wheel.
The campaign shows the amazing difference that fun and laughter can make in the healing process of a child who is hospitalized. Second, it reflects Honda’s dedication to social responsibility and innovation, as Shogo is an electrified vehicle that supports the company’s goal to have 40% of sales from electrified vehicles by 2030, and 100% by 2040. Third, it reinforces Honda’s long-standing partnership with Children’s Health of Orange County (CHOC) Hospital, one of the first hospitals to use Shogo in caring for young patients. The campaign also creates positive publicity and goodwill for Honda, as it has been covered by various media outlets and received an award from The One Club.
