In partnership with the town of Newmarket in Ontario, a new kind of pop-up retail store was recently unveiled in the Upper Canada Mall. Despite being called the 'Receration Pop-Up Shop,' the space is dedicated more to selling activities and experiences than pushing products. In this space, visitors are able to learn about and get involved in Newmarket's recreation programs by registering for summer camps, sampling games and engaging in social programs.
Although the shop occupies valuable retail space, the partnership shows the Upper Canada Mall's devotion to building community and promoting wellness, while also positioning the mall as a hub of activity. As part of its new Recreational Programming services, the mall even offers some programs that allow parents to drop their kids off for supervised activities, so that they can shop for an hour or longer.
Making the most of the summer months, it's expected that the temporary mall shop will stay open for at least a month.
