The IVY Light, made from LEDs, is an organic lamp that you plant in a flower pot. Shade is produced naturally by the ivy that grows over it.
It was created by Izabela Cichecka and Marcela Kawka. Cichecka’s writes that inspiration for the lamp came from the human requirement to have contact with nature, not enough plants in public spaces, anti-human architecture, life in continuous stress and hurry (rat race) and technology imitating solutions applied by the nature.
The IVY Light is perfect for the organically inclined person who doesn’t mind not having shade for awhile. However, if the ivy planted grows as fast as it does outside, the wait for shade shouldn’t be too long.
