The Bioo Lamp Turns On and Off by Touching the Succulent
Michael Hemsworth — June 23, 2023 — Art & Design
The Bioo Lamp is a high-end illuminator designed with biophilia at the forefront to provide users with a charming way to brighten up a space and more. The lamp was designed as part of the BiooLux campaign by the Barcelona-based Kutuko Studio and features a bulbous base that emanates light in an ambient manner. The light is topped with a succulent that acts as a biological activation switch and requires the user to touch its leaves to turn the unit on or off.
The Bioo Lamp takes a more direct approach to the concept of incorporating greenery into a space and also responds to a growing disconnection with nature amongst urbanites. The light would thus require users to physically interact with greenery.
