This Obama Speech Art Explores Tech Advances

3D printing is set to revolutionize the world, and one artist has made his mark by turning Barack Obama’s speech on the topic into a 3D voice sculpture.
Sculptor Gilles Azzaro began working on the piece the day after the speech was given and converted the voice print into a five-foot, 200-pound three dimensional sculpture entitled ‘The Next Industrial Revolution.' The piece comes with a recording of the speech that pays alongside the sculpture.
The sculpture of Obama’s speech is an unusual and beautiful piece of work, with sharp, jagged ridges that become lushly detailed when looked at under magnification. This art piece is symbolic of the progress society is making in the realm of technology and doubles as a preservation and documentation of our culture, leaders and our politics.
